Rider girls topple Sequim 38-27

Port Angeles went on a 10-0 run to start the third period and went on to a 38-27 win over the Sequim Wolves on the Rider court.
Sequim is now 5-6 in league play, while the Riders are 4-6 and in fifth place in the Olympic League 2A Division standing, while Sequim is now third, heading to 5-5 North Kitsap Tuesday.
The Riders host Bremerton Tuesday and Kingston Thursday.  2 wins could PA up a notch on the playoff ladder.
Sequim opened a 7-4 first period lead, then 6-1 PA center Nizhoni Wheeler hit six points in the second period as the Riders rode to a 16-11 lead at halftime, the Wolves managing just four points.
Wheeler hit for 8 more in the third period as the Riders outscored Sequim 10-2 to garner a 26-13 third period advantage.
Caitlin Stofferahn led Sequim back in the final period with eight of her 16 points, but the Riders canned seven of 14 free throws to keep the Wolves at bay.
Wheeler wound up with 16, Hayley Baxley helped with 10
The Riders won in spite of 4/37 two point shooting and 2/10 from long range. Sequim was held to 4/23 shooting, 5-19 threes.
