2013 Football Game 10 - Foster 27, Sequim 13

Foster 27, Sequim 13

(Tukwila) -- Foster High School rolled up 280 rushing yards Thursday night, taking a non-league football season finale from the Sequim High Wolves 27-13.
Gusty southerly winds hampered the passing and kicking games for both squads.
Short, wind-blown Sequim punts gave Foster great field position in Wolves territory on consecutive first quarter possessions and the Bulldogs cashed both drives into touchdowns.
Sophomore quarterback Zane Jacobson hit Patrick Saau for the first score on a 15-yard pass as Foster led 7-0 with 6:24 left in the opening frame.
Jacobson hit 10 of 21 passes for 102 yards, 4 of the completions to Saau for 75 yards.
Jacobson slalomed to pay dirt from 15 yards almost 3 minutes later to boost the Bulldogs advantage to 13-0.
Late in the first half, Sequim drove 87 yards in 17 plays as sophomore running back Arnold Black bulldozed a yard for 6 points with 1:58 left before intermission, cutting the deficit to 13-7.
Black carried the ball 15 times for 61 yards.
Sequim got possession to start the second half and pounded the ball into Foster territory, alternating keepers by quarterback Miguel Moroles, quick hitters by Adam Knapman and power blasts by Black.
On the doorstep of taking the lead, a handoff from Moroles to Knapman went awry at the Foster 2, killing the drive and Sequim momentum.
The Wolves defense forced a Bulldogs 3-and-out and a short punt gave Sequim the ball back at the Foster 35.
A Moroles interception on the second play of the ensuing drive by Alvin Noa allowed the home team to dodge another bullet.
The Bulldogs increased their advantage to 20-7 after Sele Eneliko broke into a gap created by 2 blitzing Sequim linebackers and steamed 49 yards for a score.
The Wolves final touchdown of the season came with 10 seconds to go in the third quarter, when Moroles connected with Ian Dennis on a back-side screen for 21 yards and a touchdown, cutting it to 20-13.
Heavy, wind-swept rain started in the final stanza, the Bulldogs getting the last score on an 11-yard Alvin Noa run with 10:07 remaining.
Wolves quarterbacks Moroles and freshman Dylan Lott combined to complete just 5 of 20 passes for 72 yards.
Freshman Bailey Earley caught a pass for 46 yards.
Moroles led the Wolves in rushing with 100 yards on 16 carries and Knapman added 60 yards on 16 tallies.
Foster outgained Sequim 376-270.
Sequim finished the campaign winless at 0-10 while Foster concluded the season at 3-7.
The contest marked the final prep football appearances for seniors Riley Hazard, Adam Knapman, Austin Sampson, Alex Serrano and Brett Wright.
