16 17 Boys Basketball Game 7 - Centralia 60, Sequim 45

(Sequim) -- Shooting guard Hodges Bailey scored 18 points and center Nick Edwards added 12 as the Centralia Tigers beat the Sequim Wolves 60-45 in a non-leaguer Tuesday.

Coach Ron Brown's Tigers ran their season record to 4-1 after opening up a close game in the final period.

Sequim point guard Nate Despain scored all 8 of his points in the opening stanza, when the Wolves trailed 17-16 at the first buzzer.

The Tigers led by 6 at halftime 33-27 as Tyler Ashmore knocked down 3 first half triples in an 11-point effort.

Centralia had a 43-36 lead after three periods.

Bailey, who came into the game averaging more than 30 points a contest, was held to 7 first-half markers by Sequim, but was able to push the ball to the hoop on dribble drives in the final period to help Centralia put the game away.

The Tigers also pounded the ball inside to center Nick Edwards in the last 8 minutes, when he scored 8 of his 12 markers.

Riley Cowan and Payton Glasser shared team-high scoring honors with 12 tallies each for Sequim. 

The Wolves fell to 1-6 on the campaign.

Centralia plays at Port Angeles Wednesday afternoon.

Sequim visits the Northwest School in Seattle for a two day tournament next week, playing Archbishop Murphy next Wednesday at 5:15.

16 17 Boys Basketball Game 6 - Kingston 67, Sequim 28

(Sequim) -- The Kingston Buccaneers plundered and pillaged Rick Kaps Gym Friday night on the way to a 
67-28 victory over the Sequim Wolves.

The Olympic League 2A boys basketball victory kept the Bucs unbeaten at 5-0 and 4-0 in circuit action, while Sequim fell to 1-5 overall and 0-4 in league play.

Kingston's tight man-to-man defense gave the Wolves fits throughout the evening as Sequim failed to reach double-digit scoring in every quarter.

The Bucs led 40-16 at intermission and 56-20 after three quarters.

In the final period, Kingston took a 40-point lead and the game was played with a running clock.

Liam Young fired in 12 of his 21 points in the first frame for Kingston as the Bucs jumped out to a 21-8 lead.

Gabe Gregory paced Kingston with 13 markers, while Isaac Anderson had 9 and Connor Friedel added 8 tallies.

Payton Glasser led the Sequim effort with 22 points.

The Wolves will entertain the Centralia Tigers in a non-leaguer Tuesday at Rick Kaps Gym.
