(Sequim) -- Junior forward Sam Byers led five double-figure scorers with 17 points as the Kingston Buccaneers beat the Sequim Wolves 74-68 Tuesday night at Rick Kaps Gym.
The Bucs remained unbeaten in the Olympic League boys basketball at 7-0, while the Wolves fell to 5-2 in league and 9-3 overall.
Jayson Brocklesby kept Sequim in the game early with his offensive rebounding and connected for 9 of his 20 points in the first quarter.
The Wolves trailed 14-13 after first break, then took a 19-16 lead halfway through the second quarter as Corbin Webb scored 8 of his game-high 27 points in the period.
However, the Buccaneers managed a 10-0 run fueled by baskets from Byers and fellow 6-4 forward Zane Ravenholt, who finished with 14 points. The advantage swung to the visitors at 26-19 with 3 minutes to go until intermission.
Sequim managed to cut the lead to three, but another 5-0 run put the Bucs up 36-28 at halftime.
The Wolves chopped the deficit to 2 at 39-37 with five minutes left in the third quarter before Kingston pulled back out to an 8-point lead -- 53-45 -- heading to the final period.
The visitors extended the advantage to an many as 13 in the late going before a series of Sequim treys by Webb and Gabe Carter closed the final gap.
George Hill paced the Buccaneers with 16, Richie Sander added 12 and 6-9 senior transfer Derek Burgess put in 10 points.
Carter had 10 points for Sequim and Nick Camporini had 6.
Sequim will host the Olympic Trojans Thursday night, while Kingston will visit Port Angeles Friday.
