Sequim boys 62, Port Townsend 55

(Sequim) -- The Sequim Wolves boys basketball team beat Port Townsend 62-55 Tuesday night at Rick Kaps Gym.
Sequim trailed early after Port Townsend's Kyle Kelly and Seiji Thielk zeroed in with long range howitzers, but the Wolves came back for a 14-13 first quarter lead.
Kelly was the game-high scorer with 20 tallies.
Port Townsend led by as many as 6 points in the second quarter, but Sequim rallied to tie it at 29 for intermission as Nick Camporini hit two triples in the period and finished with 10 points.
A nip and tuck third quarter had six lead changes with Sequim finally taking control at 41-39.
The Wolves rattled off 13 straight points to end the period with a 10-point advantage -- 49-39.
Jayson Brocklesby had 8 of his 15 markers and Gabe Carter nailed 10 of his 13 points in the decisive quarter.
Port Townsend never got closer than 6 points in the final period and fell to 2-9 overall and 1-8 in Olympic League boys play.
Jacob DeBerry paced the Redskins with 12 points and Matt Juran had 8.
Sequim improved to 11-3 overall and 7-2 in league.
The Wolves host Port Angeles Thursday.
