PREP BASKETBALL: Sequim boys 54, Port Townsend 39

(Port Townsend) -- The Sequim boys basketball team used a pressure defense in the second half that created some key Port Townsend turnovers as the Wolves beat the Redskins 54-39 at Bruce Blevins Gym Tuesday night.
The Wolves' Corbin Webb and Gabe Carter were game-high scorers with 19 points apiece.
After Sequim led 15-8 at the first quarter break, the Wolves went cold, scoring just one basket in the second quarter and trailed 20-17 at halftime.
Sequim came out of the locker room energized using a full court press to rattle the Redskins.
The Wolves had a 18-7 run through the third period, leading 35-27 going to the final period.
Sequim (2-1 overall, 1-1 in Olympic League play) canned 8 of 10 free throws down the stretch.
Port Townsend (0-2 overall, 0-1 in Olympic League play) was led by post Jacob DeBerry with 9 points, while Hab Rubio and Kylen Solvik had 8 points apiece.
The Wolves host Peninsula tonight at 7 in Rick Kaps Gym.
