PREP BASKETBALL: Eatonville ends Sequim boys win streak

(Port Townsend) -- Josh Bennett scored 16 points and Erik Swartout added 15 as the Eatonville Cruisers stopped the Sequim Wolves 58-51 Tuesday at Port Townsend's Crush in the Slush tournament.
The Wolves struggled to shake off the rust of an 11-day holiday layoff and trailed 9-0 before hitting the scoreboard with 3:27 left in the opening quarter.
Eatonville led 17-10 at the first break and 30-20 at intermission.
Sequim got back into the contest with a 14-5 run in the third quarter, highlighted by a pair of triples from Gabe Carter and Nick Camporini, both finishing the game with 12 points.
The Wolves went to the final period trailing by three at 44-41.
Corbin Webb, who returned to the Sequim lineup after a bout with mononucleosis, swished a trey with 4:35 to go, pulling the Wolves to within a point at 49-48.
Webb had a team-high 12 points.
After another Sequim basket cut the Cruisers' lead to 52-51 with 2:40 left, Eatonville held the Wolves scoreless for the remainder of the contest.
The loss ended Sequim's seven-game winning streak as the Wolves fell to 8-2 on the season.
Eatonville improved to 5-2 for the campaign.
Sequim will play the Orting Cardinals in day two of the Crush in the Slush tourney Wednesday at 10:45 a.m.
Eatonville meets Port Townsend at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
