(Sequim) -- Sequim outscored North Kitsap 43-29 in the second half Tuesday night as the Wolves prevailed 70-61 over the Vikings in Olympic League boys basketball at Rick Kaps Gym.
North's Michael Urquhart got hot in the second period, hitting for 10 of 12 points, including a pair of triples.
An 11-0 surge by the Vikings left the visitors in front 32-27 at intermission.
Sequim's Vance Willis completed a three point play with 4:30 left in the third frame, giving the Wolves a 35-34 lead.
Outscoring the visitors 22-12, the Wolves went to the final quarter ahead 49-44.
Sequim (7-3 overall, 5-1 in Olympic League play) was led by Erik Christensen's 17 points, most on strong post moves to the basket.
Alex Barry added 15, Vance Willis 13 and Rory Kallappa with 12 rounded out the Wolves scoring.
North Kitsap (6-4 overall and 3-3 in Olympic League) was without 6-9 center Calvin Dennis, who was disqualified from Monday's game against Evergreen on a pair of technical fouls and forced by rule to sit out Tuesday's contest.
Ethan Graebner had 16 for North, Michael Urquhart had 12, while Brooks Ellingson and Adam Lemmon added 11 markers apiece.
Meantime, in girls action in Poulsbo Tuesday night, Sequim won a 34-31 decision against North Kitsap in a battle for second place in the Olympic League girls standings.
The Sequim boys and girls hoopsters travel to Port Angeles Friday to meet the Roughriders.
