(Sequim) -- Ricky Aaron and Zac Johnston combined for 38 points as the Interlake Saints opened the prep basketball season Monday night with a 57-48 non-league victory over the Sequim Wolves.

Aaron had 13 of his 21 points in the second half and Johnson nailed 13 of his 17 after intermission.

Sequim (0-1) started strong, leading 15-9 at the first break and had a 20-13 advantage with 3:53 left in the opening half.

Interlake (1-0) finished the second quarter on a 12-2 run, taking the lead for good on Eric Ritter's trey with 54 seconds before halftime.

The Saints, from the Bellevue School District and the KingCo Conference, led by just two at 40-38 with six minutes to go, but managed to pull away for the win.

Clancy Catelli led Sequim with 17 points, while John Textor paced the Wolves with 10.

The Wolves host the Klahowya Eagles Friday night at Rick Kaps Gym in the Olympic League opener.
