Sequim boys down Neah Bay 65-60

(Sequim) -- Jackson Oliver scored 12 of his game-high 24 points in the third quarter, fueling the Sequim Wolves to a come-from-behind 65-60 boys basketball victory over the Neah Bay Red Devils.
The Wolves trailed 11-7 at the first buzzer and 28-26 at halftime against the sharpshooting Red Devils, who fired in 5 first-half triples.
Kenrick Doherty had 3 Neah Bay treys and 11 points in the first 16 minutes, but the Wolves held him to just 3 second-half points as he finished with 14.
Another dangerous Neah Bay shooter, Ryan Moss had 18 tallies, but Sequim defense held him to just 2 triples in the game.
In the pivotal third period, Sequim switched to a 2-1-2 offensive set that forced the Red Devils to come out of their zone defense.
The Wolves attacked the rack and Payton Glasser scored 6 of his 13 tallies in the period as Sequim took the lead and went to the final 8 minutes ahead 48-43.
In the fourth quarter, the Wolves got key baskets and rebounds from senior Nick Faunce, who finished with 11 markers.
Rweha Munjagi paced the Red Devils with 17 points, Jericho McGimpsey added 6 and Reggie Buttram had 5.
Riley Cowan tallied 7 for Sequim and Jack Shea added 4 points.
Neah Bay (0-1) plays at Taholah Friday night, while Sequim (2-2) travels to the Quimper Peninsula Monday to play the Port Townsend Redhawks.
