Olympic ends Sequim boys hoops season 59-41

(University Place) -- The Olympic Trojans outscored Sequim 33-11 in the final period last night and ended the Wolves boys basketball season 59-41 at Curtis High School.
Olympic improves to 17-6 overall and will meet the Sammamish Totems on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 at Curtis in a contest to determine regional seedings.
Sammamish beat the Lindbergh Eagles 66-52 Thursday in the preliminary game.
Sequim finishes the season with an 16-8 overall record.
Olympic had the first quarter lead at 11-10, but Sequim forged ahead and had a 20-19 advantage at halftime.
The Wolves were still in control after 3 quarters at 30-26.
The lead ping-ponged five times early in the final quarter, the Wolves up 37-35 with 4:50 left after Alex Barry deposited a trey.
Barry had a game-high 22 points.
Makaleb McInnis gave Olympic the lead for good 38-37 after splashing a triple and the Trojans ran away for the win on a 21-4 streak.
McInnis had a team-high 21 for the Trojans and Damarius Johnson added 19.
Payton Glasser paced the Wolves with 7 points, Vance Willis chipped in 4, while Jackson Oliver and Adrian Espinoza had 3 apiece.
It was the final prep basketball appearance for Sequim seniors Austin Adams, Dustin Bates, Alex Barry, Adrian Espinoza, Josh McConnaughey, Alex Rutherford and Vance Willis.
