(Sequim) -- The Sequim High Wolves beat the Neah Bay Red Devils 72-66 Saturday in a non-league boys basketball game at Rick Kaps Gym.
The Red Devils, fresh off their state 1B football championship last week at the Tacoma Dome, played for the first time on the hardwoods, bombing in eleven 3-pointers against the 2A Wolves.
Neah Bay's Ryan Moss and Sequim's Alex Barry shared game-high scoring honors with 25 points.
The Wolves had a 22-16 advantage at the first buzzer.
Barry had the hottest hand early, canning 23 tallies before intermission, including 3 triples.
Jongi Claplanhu countered with 3 treys for the Red Devils in the first 16 minutes.
Sequim (3-0 overall, 2-0 in Olympic League play) was ahead 42-33 at halftime.
The Red Devils' Moss singed the twines for 3 of his 7 treys in the third quarter as Neah Bay outscored Sequim 21-14.
A howitzer from Moss capped a 10-0 Neah Bay run and the visitors were up 54-53 with 30 seconds left in the frame.
The Wolves went to the final stanza up by just 2 -- 56-54.
In the last 8 minutes, Sequim's Rory Kallappa scored 7 of his 14 points.
He hit a trey, then a pair of freebies to put the Wolves up 61-55 with 6:06 remaining.
Neah Bay's foul trouble mounted, losing both Josiah and Ezekiel Greene to disqualifications in the final minutes.
George Johnson nailed a key 3-ball with 2:09 left, boosting Sequim ahead 70-61.
Vance Willis paced Sequim with 12 points and Claplanhu had 14 for Neah Bay.
Sequim resumes Olympic League action Monday at Kingston.
