(Sequim) -- Alex Barry scored 17 points and Vance Willis added 12 as the Sequim High Wolves stayed unbeaten with a 57-50 victory over the Olympic Trojans Wednesday night at Rick Kaps Gym.
The herky jerky affair between last season's Olympic League co-champs started with the Wolves ahead 7-1 on Willis' triple with 4:20 left in the initial period.
Sequim (2-0 overall and in Olympic League play) had an 11-8 margin at the first break.
The Trojans' Jumier Johnson had 6 of his 8 points in the opening stanza.
The Wolves dropped in 6 of 8 second period free throws and Willis canned another three late in the half, boosting Sequim to a 22-18 advantage at intermission.
In the third quarter, Olympic's Makaleb McInnis scored 9 of his 11 markers and Sequim's Barry answered with 11 tallies.
The teams traded the lead six times and tied twice, as the Wolves were ahead 44-41 going to the final frame, a lead they would never relinquish.
Olympic (1-4 overall and 0-2 in Olympic League play) got 11 points from TJ Mosely and Shane Matheny added 9.
The Wolves were paced by Rory Kallappa with 9, Erik Christensen with 8 and Anthony Pinza with 7.
The Trojans will host Port Townsend Friday.
Sequim hosts Neah Bay Saturday at 3 and will travel to Kitsap County Monday to play the Kingston Buccaneers.
In girls action Wednesday at Silverdale, Sequim beat Olympic 52-45.
