Sequim boys stay alive at District, beat Eatonville 62-52

(Tacoma) -- Corbin Webb scored 25 points and Jayson Brocklesby added 17 as the Sequim High Wolves stayed alive in the 2A West Central District boys basketball tournament with a 62-52 victory over the Eatonville Cruisers.
The Wolves led all the way in the loser out contest at Foss High School in Tacoma.
Sequim (16-8) had a 13-7 advantage at the first buzzer and extended the lead to 22-11 on freshman Alex Barry's triple with 5:05 left in the first half.
Eatonville managed to cut the deficit to six at 24-18 as Josh Bennett had 5 points in the second period and finished with a team-high 13.
The Wolves increased the gap to 31-20 at intermission as Webb hit for 13 markers in the second stanza.
Sequim continued to play add on in the third period, leading by as many as 19, ahead 48-32 at the final break.
Gabe Carter paced the Wolves with 14 points.
Erik Swartout tossed in 11 points for Eatonville and Brendan Davis added 10 tallies.
Sequim will continue consolation round play Monday at 2:30 against either Fife or Foster at Foss High.
Eatonville finished the season with a 13-11 mark.
