(Sequim) -- Kingston's Sam Byers scored 20 points Friday night as the Buccaneers beat Sequim 67-45 and clinched a share of the Olympic League boys basketball title.
Byers used his mastery of post moves around the hoop and dominated the inside game, getting 12 markers in the second half.
KT Deam paced the Bucs with 13, Cody Combs added 10 and Connor Wall had 8 points for Kingston.
Kingston's Byers had 6 first quarter counters, but the Wolves managed to keep it close, trailing 13-7 after one period.
Sequim's Corbin Webb had 9 of his team-high 13 points in the first-half, but no one else in a Wolves jersey could manage more than a single field-goal before intermission.
Kingston (15-3 overall, 13-1 in Olympic League play) had a 24-15 advantage at the half.
The Wolves closed to within 4 early in the third quarter at 25-21, before a 19-7 Bucs run -- including two dead-eye triples by Wall and another by Deam -- left the visitors ahead 44-28 going to the final period.
