Clover Park beats Sequim boys at subdistrict 66-55

(Silverdale) -- Sophomore sensation Ahmaad Rorie scored 27 points Friday night, leading the Clover Park Warriors to a 66-55 decision over the Sequim Wolves in 2A subdistrict boys action at Klahowya Secondary School.
Clover Park, the defending state 2A champions, will play the Evergreen Wolverines, a 49-46 victor over Kingston Friday, for the 1st and 2nd seeds to the district tournament tonight at 6 in the Klahowya Gym.
Sequim (15-6) will meet Kingston (17-4) for the 3rd and 4th seeds into the district at 4 p.m. at Klahowya.
The Warriors led 16-9 at the first buzzer as Rorie led the way with 9 points in the period.
Clover Park (18-4) opened up a 16 point lead midway through the second quarter as Rorie, Xavier Means and David Crisp contributed a combined 17 markers in the stanza.
Means finished with 12 and Crisp threw in 11 for CP.
The Wolves closed the gap to 13 at halftime as Jayson Brocklesby scored 10 of his team-high 18 markers before intermission.
The Warriors pushed their lead to as many as 19 points in the second half, but Sequim managed to cut the deficit into the single digits at 60-51 in the final minutes.
Corbin Webb had 14 of his 17 counters after halftime and Gabe Carter tallied 13 for the Wolves.
