Kingston stays unbeaten in OL, beats Sequim 53-45

(Kingston) -- The Kingston home court advantage parlayed into nine 3-pointers Tuesday night as the Buccaneers shot down the Sequim Wolves 53-45 and remained unbeaten in the Olympic League boys hoops campaign.
Kingston (9-2, 7-0 in Olympic League action) got four treys from Richie Sander, including three in the opening quarter that gave the Bucs a 15-14 advantage at the first buzzer.
Sander finished with a team-high 15 points.
KT Deam got the hot hand for Kingston in the second period, connecting on 3 triples for 9 of his 11 markers.
Gabe Carter kept Sequim close in the first half by hitting 12 of his game-high 16 points.
Sam Byers scored all 7 of his points in the second stanza as Kingston led 31-27 at intermission.
After intermission, Cody Combs joined the three-point parade, nailing a pair of shots beyond the arc and Sander popped in his fourth 3-ball.
Kingston played tenacious defense in the third, holding the Wolves to just 6 points, extending the lead to 48-33 going to the fourth quarter.
Brady Sundquist scored 10 points on scrappy post moves for the Bucs.
Jayson Brocklesby paced Sequim with 11 points.
The Wolves' Corbin Webb was held to just 6 points on glove-like defense by Kingston's Deam.
Kingston will host Port Angeles Friday, while Sequim (8-3, 5-2 in Olympic League play) visits Silverdale for a matchup with the Olympic Trojans.
