PREP BASKETBALL: Sequim boys 73, Klahowya 41

(Sequim) -- The Sequim High Wolves ripped the Klahowya Eagles 73-41 Friday night in Olympic League boys basketball at Rick Kaps Gym.
The Wolves had 4 scorers in double figures and led by as many as 34 points in the final period.
Sequim improved to 4-2 overall and 4-1 in league play.
Jayson Brocklesby had 18, Gabe Carter 14, Alex Barry added 11 and Andrew Shimer canned 10.
Sequim's finest ball handling effort of the season reflected in the final stats as the Wolves had 24 assists with just 10 turnovers.
A Sequim full court press in the early going left the Eagles behind 20-6 after the first quarter.
Klahowya narrowed a 25-6 Wolves lead to 26-12 midway through the second period after baskets by Josh Ganowski, who led Klahowya with 14 points.
Another 10-3 Wolves run extended the advantage to 36-15 at intermission, as Brocklesby and Carter combined for all 16 of Sequim points in the frame.
Sequim led 58-30 at the end of the third quarter after Shimer beat the buzzer with a triple.
Cody Roberts paced Klahowya with 9, Mitchell Knuckey had 7 and Mike Ward added 6 for the Eagles, who dropped to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in Olympic League play.
The Wolves will visit Poulsbo Tuesday for a game with the North Kitsap Vikings.

In other Olympic League boys games Friday, North Kitsap conquered Port Townsend 59-43, Olympic slammed North Mason 67-21 and Bremerton ran past Port Angeles 78-59.


In Olympic League girls scores Friday, Port Townsend beat North Kitsap 42-37, Olympic clipped North Mason 39-34, Port Angeles stayed unbeaten with a win over Bremerton 49-36 and the Sequim Lady Wolves downed Klahowya 42-30.   Kingston beat Peninsula 49-41 in a non-leaguer.
