PREP BASKETBALL: Sequim boys 58, North Kitsap 41

(Poulsbo) -- Jayson Brocklesby scored 21 and Gabe Carter added 12 as the Sequim High Wolves ripped the North Kitsap Vikings 58-41 Tuesday night in Olympic League boys basketball at Poulsbo.
The Wolves led 13-10 after one quarter, then held the Vikings scoreless for the first 6 minutes and 35 seconds of the second period.
Sequim (5-2 overall and 5-1 in the Olympic League) had a 22-12 halftime lead with Brocklesby leading the way with 12 markers before intermission.
North Kitsap (4-4 overall and 4-2 in the Olympic League) closed to within 6 points at 26-22 on a surge led by Adam Lemmon, who scored 6 of his team-high 10 points in the third frame.
Sequim regrouped with 13 straight points and led 39-22 at the third buzzer as Andrew Shimer hit all 6 of his tallies in the period.
The Wolves led by 24 early in the final quarter before the Vikings closed to within 11 at 50-39.
Sequim hit 10 of 19 free throws late to ice the game on an 8-2 run.
Anthony Pinza scored 8 for Sequim, while Alex Barry and Rory Kallappa added 4 apiece.
Brocklesby pulled down 4 rebounds and added 3 assists, while Carter had 8 assists, 8 rebounds and 5 steals.
Kendal Gill had 9 points for North Kitsap and Jacob Hill added 8.
The Vikings host the Kingston Buccaneers Friday, while the Wolves entertain Port Angeles at Rick Kaps Gym.
Port Angeles was idle Tuesday.
In other Olympic League boys action Tuesday, Bremerton drilled Port Townsend 61-36, Olympic romped over Klahowya 75-35 and Kingston pasted North Mason 71-44.
In Olympic League girls games Tuesday, North Kitsap beat Sequim 50-31, Bremerton clipped Port Townsend 47-46, Olympic downed Klahowya 32-20 and Kingston prevailed over North Mason 37-23.
