Kentridge bolts to 73-42 win over Sequim boys

(Kent) - The Kentridge Chargers bolted out to a 14-0 sprint against the Sequim High Wolves, riding junior Joran Ticeson's game-high 24 points to a 73-42 non-league boys basketball victory Saturday night.
Sequim's Alex Barry had a team-high 20 markers, breaking the opening drought with a triple with 3:30 left in the opening stanza.
The Chargers enjoyed the home nets and led 21-12 after one period.
Sequim managed to close within 7 points on a couple of occasions in the second quarter, but Kentridge pulled ahead 36-22 at intermission.
The Chargers used their strength and athleticism to blitz the Wolves with a full court press and outscored the visitors 22-7 in the first 8 minutes of the second half, going to the final quarter ahead 58-30.
Kentridge (2-0) was paced by the 14 points of point guard Deon Thomas and 13 from senior Nick Hopson.
The Chargers host Kentlake Tuesday for a 4A South Puget Sound League opener.
Dustin Bates, Vance Willis and Bailey Earley had 5 tallies apiece for the Wolves.
Sequim (1-1) has its first Olympic League 2A Division contest against Bremerton Tuesday night at Rick Kaps Gym.
