Sequim begins state play Thursday against Renton

The Sequim High Wolves boys basketball team begins state 2A Tournament play in Yakima Thursday at 10:30 a.m against the Renton Indians.
The Wolves (21-4) come into the 8-team affair after a thrilling 51-48 regional victory against Hockinson Saturday night at Kent-Meridian High School.
The Indians (23-2) defeated River Ridge 73-57 Saturday night in regional play.
Renton won its first 19 games of the season before losing the final regular season to Kennedy.
Sequim is looking for its first state tournament trophy since the 2001 season when current Lynden coach Brian Roper led the Wolves to an 8th place finish at the Tacoma Dome.
