2012 Football Game 9 - North Mason 28, Sequim 6

PREP FOOTBALL: North Mason 28, Sequim 6

(Belfair) -- North Mason broke open a tight contest with 3 touchdowns in the fourth quarter and beat the Sequim High Wolves 28-6 Friday night in the rain and mud at Phil Pugh Stadium in Belfair.
Sequim (2-7 overall and 2-5 in Olympic League play) opened the scoring 3 minutes into the game on a 19-yard run by Lopaka Yasamura.
The three play scoring drive was set up by North Mason's Tommy Renne's fumble on the Bulldogs' first scrimmage play at the Sequim 41.
The 6-0 Sequim margin held up for almost 28 minutes. North Mason (5-4 overall, 4-3 in Olympic League play) turned the tide on a fumbled Sequim punt snap recovered in the end zone for a touchdown by Chase Schoonhoven with 5:22 left in the third period.
Aaron North's PAT gave North Mason a 7-6 advantage. Early in the final period, a muffed punt return by Sequim's Yasamura put North Mason into scoring territory.
The Bulldogs' freshmen quarterback Matt Becker threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Levi Rowland with 9:13 left, increasing the North Mason lead to 14-6.
Tommy Renne had two touchdown runs later in the final quarter to put the game away for the Bulldogs.
In other Olympic League games Friday, Bremerton trounced Klahowya 56-13, North Kitsap downed Olympic 29-12 and Kingston sank Port Angeles 40-7.
