(Sequim) -- The Sequim High Wolves earned their first victory of the season in thrilling fashion Friday night, holding off the Klahowya Eagles in the final minute for a 37-32 Olympic League victory.
Trailing 31-13 entering the final quarter, the Eagles rallied for three touchdowns within 2 minutes and 15 seconds -- fueled by a pair of Sequim turnovers -- taking a 32-31 advantage when quarterback Jacob Sheets hit Grady Bashore with a 17-yard touchdown pass with 8:45 remaining.
It was the duo's second scoring connection of the evening.

Eagles' final drive falls short

Andrew Shimer sacked Sheets for a 4-yard loss on first down, then Sheets threw 2 successive incompletions on 2nd and 3rd down under tremendous blitz pressure from the Wolves.
On 4th-and-goal from the Sequim 11 with just 11 seconds left, Sheets had a receiver flash open at the goal line on a post pattern, but Bashore could only manage to get one hand on the ball before it fell to the turf incomplete, setting off a raucous Wolves homecoming victory celebration.
Sequim roared to 19-0 lead
Sequim roared to an early 19-0 first quarter lead, scoring first on a 50-yard scoring sprint from Lopaka Yasamura on the second scrimmage play of the contest.

The Eagles answered the Wolves with 1:33 remaining in the opening period when Sheets finished a drive with an 8-yard run, making it 19-6 for the hosts after one quarter.
