(Sequim) -- The Kingston Buccaneers rolled up 456 yards of total offense Friday night, smashing the Sequim High Wolves 47-28.
Junior tailback Nick Tabanera rushed for 182 yards on 35 carries and 4 touchdowns.
Fullback Aaron Dickson added 61 bruising yards on 8 carries as Kingston tallied 265 yards on the ground.
Sequim (0-6 and 0-4 in the Olympic League play) took the initial lead at 7-0 after quarterback Jack Wiker capped a 10-play, 78-yard march on a 10-yard run to paydirt.
Wiker packed the ball 19 times for 163 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Mixing plays superbly, Kingston quarterback Bobby Reece drove the Bucs 80 yards to the tying touchdown in 9 plays - 5 rushes and 4 passes -- finishing with a 13-yard scoring toss to Nathan Carleton.
The contest remained tied at 7 until the 9:30 mark of the second quarter when Tabanera punched in a 3-yard TD run, making it 14-7 Bucs.
Kingston (3-3 and 3-1 in Olympic League play) extended its advantage to 21-7 after Reece connected on a 50-yard scoring strike to Henry English with 4:52 until halftime.
The Wolves answered with 2:31 remaining in the period on a 26-yard Wiker TD run, closing the game to 21-14.
Kingston put another marker on the board before intermission, aided by a 24-yard pass from Reece-to- Carleton and a 15-yard roughing the passer penalty on the Wolves.
Tabanera's second of four visits to the Sequim endzone boosted the Bucs halftime bulge to 27-14.
Kingston failed to score a long march that ate up the first 6 minutes of the 3rd quarter, stymied in the red zone on a holding penalty and a pass interference flag as the Bucs turned the ball over on downs at the Sequim 26.
The back-breaking Kingston score came 49 seconds into the final quarter when Reece hit Matt Shaw in the flat and the big tight end steamrolled 19 yards to the goal line, putting the Bucs up 34-14.
The teams exchanged touchdowns the rest of the way - 2 by Sequim's Wiker and 2 by Kingston's Tabanera.
The Bucs victory ended a string of 5 consecutive Sequim wins in a lopsided series where the Wolves outscored Kingston 239 to 54 between 2007 and 2011.
In other Friday Olympic League contests, Bremerton routed Port Angeles 63-7, North Kitsap downed North Mason 48-18 and Klahowya edged Olympic, 15-14.
