(Port Townsend) -- A big fourth quarter rally pushed the Sequim Wolves boys past Port Townsend 45-41 Tuesday night at Bruce Blevins Gym.
The Wolves trailed the Redskins by nine points -- 33-24 -- going to the final period.
Sequim ratcheted up the defensive pressure and got some key inside-the-paint offensive work from sophomore Frank Catelli and junior Josh McMinn.
The Catelli/McMinn combo meshed for 11 fourth quarter points as the Wolves outscored Townsend 21-8 in the final stanza.
Catelli finished with a team-high 10 and McMinn threw in 9 points.
The Wolves closed to 34-30 with 4:31 left on McMinn score off a Catelli feed.
Sequim's Kenny Meier tied the affair at 37 on a triple with 2:38 left.
Jacob DeBerry scored with 2:03 to go, putting PT back on top 39-37.
Sequim's Michael Dunning connected on a 3-ball with 1:43 left that put the Wolves ahead to stay at 40-39.
The Wolves clinched the game with 16 seconds left after John Textor hit a 35-footer from the right wing as the 35-second shot clock expired, giving Sequim a 44-39 advantage.
The Redskins (3-8 in Olympic League play, 5-10 overall) got 15 points apiece from Eric Thomas, including three baskets from beyond the arc, and Evan O'Brien.
Sequim (7-4 in Olympic League play, 7-7 overall) travels to Kingston Friday night, while Port Townsend hosts North Kitsap.
