PREP FOOTBALL: Olympic 28, Sequim 12
(Sequim) -- The Olympic High Trojans arrived late to Sequim High's Homecoming game, but ended up running away from the Wolves 28-12.
A traffic problem delayed the Silverdale club's bus ride from the Kitsap Peninsula Friday night, causing the kickoff to be pushed back by 10 minutes.
Sequim had the upper hand in the first half, leading 6-0 at intermission by virtue of Nate Nelson's 4-yard TD run with 7:35 left in the second period.
After the 20 minute Homecoming halftime, the Trojans took the lead on the first play of the second half when Keshun McGee raced 69 yards for a score off tackle, putting the visitors ahead 7-6 after Makaleb McInnis' PAT kick.
Olympic extended its lead to 14-6 on Logan Madison's 1-yard plunge with 3:10 left in the third stanza.
McGee scored to cap off another one play drive from 80 yards with 7:13 to go in the game, boosting it to 21-6.
Sequim quarterback Miguel Moroles punctuated a 10-play, 77-yard march with a 7-yard scoring keeper and chopped the Trojan lead to 21-12 with 4:03 left.
Olympic finished the scoring with 1:21 to go on a 20-yard TD run by Madison.
Sequim (0-5, 0-3 in Olympic League play) travels to Kingston next week, while the Trojans (3-2, 2-1 in Olympic League play) hosts Klahowya at Silverdale Stadium.
