(Sequim) -- Sequim senior quarterback Frank Catelli completed 15-of-21 passes for 256 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Class 2A Wolves opened the 2011 prep football season with a 42-0 mercy-rule, non-league romp over the 1A Forks Spartans.
The entire second half was played with a running clock after Michael Ballard's 38-yard interception return for a touchdown closed the first half of play and completed the game's scoring.
Sequim junior running back Jack Wiker rushed for two scores and had one TD catch as the Wolves defeated Forks for the third consecutive year.
The Wolves opened the scoring with 6:59 left in the first quarter when Catelli connected with Wiker on a 20-yard scoring pass.
Six seconds into the second period, the Wolves extended the lead to 14-0 on Wiker's 6-yard TD run.
Less than 2 minutes later, the Sequim advantage stretched to 21-0 on Catelli's 1-yard scoring toss to Christian Miles.
Catelli's third scoring strike of 10 yards to Michael Ballard boosted the Wolves' lead to 28-0 with 6:19 before intermission.
Wiker crossed the goal line with 1:45 left in the first half from 5 yards for a 35-0 Sequim bulge.
Sequim will visit 1A powerhouse Meridian next Saturday.
