16 17 Boys Basketball Game 11 - North Mason 61, Sequim 47

(Belfair) -- The North Mason Bulldogs pushed the Sequim boys into the cellar of the Olympic League 2A Division with a 61-47 win over the Wolves.

With the exception of a 4-4 tie, North Mason (5-6 overall and 1-5 in league play) led all the way Friday.

The Bulldogs had a 10-0 run to lead 14-4 after one quarter.

In the second period, Sequim closed within two at 20-18 on a Riley Cowan triple with 2:25 left, but North Mason pulled away to a seven point lead at intermission - 25-18.

Challenged physically after playing three games in five nights, Sequim wilted in the third quarter and was outscored 18-2 by the Bulldogs, who went to the final frame ahead 43-20.

Trey Fisher came alive after halftime with a pair of triples, finishing with 11.

Sequim scrapped in the fourth quarter, outpointing North Mason 27-19 as Nate Despain bombed in 18 final period markers on 4 triples.

North Mason's Jonah Ness tallied on 10 of his 16 points in the last 8 minutes.

Kevin Burrell-Briggs paced the Bulldogs with 12 tallies.

Despain led the Wolves with 22, while Payton Glasser had 13 and Cole Williams added 6.

Sequim visits Coupeville Tuesday for a non-leaguer.
