(Sequim) -- The North Kitsap Vikings broke open a 17-all halftime deadlock with 23 fourth-quarter points, earning a 40-17 Olympic League football victory over the Sequim High Wolves Friday night.
The Vikings' (2-2, 2-0 in OL play) Kyler Gracey connected on a 35-yard field goal with 11:56 remaining as North gained a 20-17 edge after a scoreless third period.
3 North Kitsap touchdowns in the final period -- a 22-yard Kyle North dash, a 28-yard interception return by AJ Milyard and a 16-yard TJ Jensen scoring run gave the tiff the appearance of a blowout.
However, the lead changed hands three times in the first half with Sequim's Mitch Koonz knotting the affair at 17 apiece as the intermission horn sounded.
Sequim (0-4, 0-2 in Olympic League play) drove 80 yards in 10 plays on the game's opening possession, cashing in with a 25-yard pass from Jack Wiker to Christian Miles and a 7-0 Wolves lead.

Gracey's first of two field goals, from 43 yards, gave the visitors a brief 10-7 advantage with 9:26 left before halftime.
Three minutes later, the Wolves' Lopaka Yasumura capped another long Sequim march on a 1-yard plunge, putting the hosts back up 14-10.
North regained the lead again after JT Nettleton got behind the Sequim defense and received a 35-yard touchdown pass from Milyard at the 3:04 mark of the second period.
