A message to Wolves fans from Dan Kari

I regret to inform you that recurring voice problems have forced us to end our Sequim sports broadcasts.

It has been a pleasure and a privilege to have been your announcer for the past 8 years.

Our first broadcast for Sequim was a 35-13 football win over Chimacum on August 31, 2007 and our final gridiron contest was September 11, 2015, a 41-0 victory over Coupeville.

We brought you 296 Sequim sports contests -- 210 basketball games and 86 football games.

The audio for almost every one of those games is available for download on this site.

I'll never forget the memories.

The ecstasy -- Thomas Gallagher stopping a Burlington-Edison 2-point conversion attempt on the final play as Sequim won 34-32 at North Kitsap in 2009.

Or Jack Wiker's touchdown pass to Tyler Forshaw with 11 seconds left that beat Eatonville 40-34 in 2011.

And the agony -- A half-court shot in overtime of the State 2A basketball quarterfinals in Yakima that gave Renton a 59-56 victory over the Wolves in 2013.

I would like to thank longtime broadcast partner and friend, Coach Phil Langston, for bringing his expertise to 111 of our games.

Kudos to Sequim High School administration, coaches and staff, including Principal Shawn Langston, Athletic Director Dave Ditlefsen, Football Coach Erik Wiker and Boys Basketball Coach Greg Glasser.

Thanks to those at KONP Radio, including Todd Ortloff, Brown Maloney, Stan Comeau, Scooter Chapman and Sandy Keys, for making our broadcasts possible.

Thanks to my biggest fan, my mother, for always listening from Hoquiam.

Lastly, thanks to the Wolves Nation, as you listened online across the country over the years, as far away as Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Ohio and New York.

I wish you all the best of luck in everything you do -- Go Wolves!

Dan Kari
